Pernod Ricard Philippines Inc., the local affiliate of the world’s co-leader in wines and spirits, celebrated a night filled with luxury and indulgence as they exhibited the Chivas Regal 18, a premium signature of the world famous scotch whisky brand last February 9 at Members Only Club. Aptly tagged as Luxe, the distinct mix of guests such as respected moguls, DOT Secretary Shalimar Hofer Tamano, ABS-CBN Publishing’s head honcho Ernie Lopez, and Executive Vice President of M. Lhuilier Financial Services Inc., Charles Lhuillier, party magnates Erik Cua, Stephen Ku, and Marco de Guzman, together with the metro’s socialites Divine Lee, Ornussa Cadness, Pauline Prieto and Saab Magalona, were spotted enjoying the overflowing food and drinks prepared specially for the party. The highlight of the night was a blind challenge that pitted together two scotch brands with equally heralded reputation and world class distinction, conducted to selected male guests. Announcement of the victor was made by Marc Rosales, the Marketing Manager of Pernod Ricard Philippines Inc., together with the dashing host, Rovilson Fernandez, and without any doubt, Chivas Regal 18 won the preference of the crowd of fastidious whisky lovers with an average rating of 4.04% against the competitor’s 3.03%. Giving insightful facts about the heritage and the journey to excellence of the Chivas Regal 18 was Darren Hosie, the Regional Mentoring Manager of the Chivas Brothers Limited. In his talk, Mr. Hosie emphasized on the richness in layers shared by the different origins, from the hint of masculine smokiness from Islay 18 to the distinct long and warm finish from Strathisla 18, made Chivas Regal 18 a notch above the rest. Luxe also served as a triple celebration of sorts as the night’s co-partners also revealed a little something for everyone. U-Boat Watches, headed by Jason Soong, named four distinct gentlemen of different fields that best embodies the spirit of U-Boat Watches. Dubbed as U-Boat Style Moguls are: Arch. Jonathan Ong Gan, the principal architect and founding partner of Ar. Jonathan O. Gan & Associates, Mr. Jericho de Guzman, Country Manager of S-net Freight Philippines, Mr. Anthony Turalba Jr., the President of Active Land Estate Sales, Inc. and Mr. Anthony Violago, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Violago Homes. Marc Soong of Jaguar Philippines led the reveal of the newest luxury car from Jaguar. The 2011 XF is contemporary, individual and expertly crafted to perfection, and best of all, its diesel powered! As an added surprise, Jaguar also gave away an exclusive trip to the Jaguar UK plant through Passport to Luxury, to the lucky buyer of the 2011 XF of the night. Paul Smith, the leading British clothing line for men, whose designs bear a combination of classic and modern through quirky and colorful details, also gave away hefty prizes for the night. Charles de Jesus, the brand’s Marketing Manager presented gift certificates to 3 lucky winners from the guests. An evening of celebration is not complete without a fiery performance. Wearing gold and being bold, Eurasia owned the stage as they performed their signature set of upbeat and sexy songs, while the enchanting DJ Nina spun her beats all through the night.
